Registration:

1º The registration is free and must be submitted at the Town Hall in the established period.

2º Only those groups registered can participate in the contest.

3º All groups of people can participate; there is not a minimum or maximum of components.

Contestants can compete in the following form: troupe or float.

4º The troupes and the floats will be formally registered at a previous meeting which will take place at the Town Hall. At least one representative of each group has to attend to those informative and organizational meetings which are celebrated before Carnival.

5º Children’s troupes and floats must have an adult representative, over 18 years, who will be the responsible of the group for its registration and participation in the parade. The maximum age to participate in the children’s contest is 16 years old. They can have adults in the group, as long as they do not represent more than 30% of the number of components, both in troupes and floats.

6º Registering presupposes and implies the acceptance of the rules.

Judges:

1º The judges will be people who know the tradition, as well as representative people of the media. All of them will be designated by the Local Government.

2º The judges, whose decisions will be final and secret, will make its valuation with the following criteria:

Troupes

Up to a maximum of 8/10 points for the costume they wear. The design and elaboration of the costumes will be original; those that have participated in previous editions and those that are purchased will not be eligible for a prize.

Up to a maximum of 2/10 points for the choreography they perform during the parade, considering as a part of the choreography those accessories that are not part of the costume, that is, they are an accompaniment and add value to the choreography.

Floats

Up to a maximum of 7/10 points for the float, taking into account: suitable dimensions, materials, painting, mechanization, etc.

Up to a maximum of 2/10 points for the costume of the members of the group, being valued with a higher score the handmade ones and with lower score the bought ones.

Up to maximum of 1/10 points for the choreography they perform during the parade.

3º In case of a tie in the score, the tie will be broken by the casting vote of the President of the Jury.

 

Parade

1º Each participating group must carry in a visible place a poster with the name of the group and the category (children or adult) and the allotted number.

2º The troupes and the floats will be placed in the order indicated by the staff. In the same way, they must follow the instructions of the staff and the volunteers along the parade. If they do not respect the instructions, they might be penalized with a score reduction of 10%.

3º It is forbidden to drink alcohol if you are the driver of a vehicle and you will be expelled of the parade if this situation takes place.

4º Failure to appear at the established time for the start of the parade, without previously justification, will be a reason for disqualification.

5º All the participating groups must complete the route.

6º The maximum distance between groups, taking the posters as a reference, will be approximately 20m or 30m. In case of not fulfilling it, the score will be penalized with a 10%.

Awards

1º The awards will be given by the City Council of Cebreros.

2º The awards ceremony will take place in the Plaza de España at the end of the Provincial Parade, after the deliberation of the judges.

3º The amount of the prizes is the one specified in the rules of the contest. The deductions determined by the current legislation have been already discounted:

4º The winners of the first Local Award, both in troupes and floats, will be those that compete in the Provincial contest with the participating groups from other towns, except for the winners of the children’s floats, since there is not a category in the Provincial Parade.

5º The prizes can be collected up to a maximum of one month after the end of the Carnival.

General Rules

1º Participants have to accept these rules.

2º Organization reserves the right to modify or alter any of the points when circumstances require it.
